Mixed Berry & Chia Seed Jam

Makes roughly ten 2tbsp servings

Ingredients

  • 1c frozen berry mix

  • 1/4c water

  • 2tbsp chia seeds

  • 1tbsp agave syrup

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor, bullet blender, or small blender cup and blend until well-combined. You may have to scrape the sides to prevent the chia seeds from sticking too much.

  2. Seal jam in an airtight container and store for a week (to be honest, I’ve stored for up to two weeks and haven’t had any issues with spoilage)

  3. The jam should be ready within 30 minutes, but reaches peak viscosity after resting in the fridge overnight.

Notes:

  • My favorite part about this jam is that it tastes fresh and sweet without all the extra added sugar of traditional jarred jam. It also comes in at about 1/4 the calories of traditional jams.

  • I haven’t tried this with fresh fruit, but I am sure it would work relatively the same way, you may just need to add a touch more water.
